Another installment of Lilah

 I know i'm running behind on my self-imposed deadline - but better late than never right? As luck would have it i actually have two Lilahs today.  Okay so i can't figure out how to line the pictures up the way i want and i'm just to tired to figure it out right now - not body tired, mind tired (you know you've been concentrating on a project for awhile so you mind just gets real tired, that's me right now). Anyways - Enjoy!

new things i've colored

i wanted to share some things i've colored recently that i found at Paper Thin Personas - the dolls (current and retired) are all very cute and varied. I enjoy paperdolls already colored in by the artist, but also enjoy when they give us a black and white version to color ourselves - it gives us a chance to create beautiful images based on their designs but with our own flair added in, take for instance the Regency Teddy Bear page - i love all of the outfits i colored but am especially happy with the green outfit with the white swirls and the raspberry tiered dress. Flora is another great example of good and bad work - i really impressed myself with the work i did on the doll (4 colors were used to achieve the doll's skin - doesn't include the greens on the stand) and i really like what i did with the orange/brown dress - but would rather shoot myself when i look at the blue outfit and thos orange stockings (i was going to try and match the look of the orange dress, but lost it somewhere - not sure what happened there). But all and all - i hope you enjoy them just the same. Oh and don't mind that line running down the Flora page - i was only initially going to share the doll (because i didn't like the blue dress and stockings) but then i thought it wouldn't be fair to only show my good work.

if you go to Paper Thin Personas and click on the Retired Paper Dolls tab and then click the 'older posts' button at the bottom of the page til you get to the first page - you can find the page 1 of the Regency Teddy Bear there which was colored in by the artist and includes the bear doll to go with the outfits.

okay - so sue me - i don't write in everyday, i'm hoping i can work on that (no promises, but will see) - but as i mentioned - mostly this is a spot for me to be me - good and bad, regular or not - this is me, we will work on it. This is a self project (in a way i guess) but aren't all blogs that for people in general? I'm sure almost all blogs are started with the intention of sharing things with the world - but i'm just as sure that when people look back over their blogs the find out bits and pieces of themselves and how they evolve over time while working on the blogs. That i'm sure is what we'll find here - i'm sure my later posts will be similair but very different from these ones (but maybe they won't be, maybe i'll just share more often? LOLOLgigglegiggleLOLOL).

EARTHQUAKE!!!!

I am sure i didn't enjoy that and I am sure i wouldn't enjoy that again! But on the up side i'm at work and had to share the experience with my coworkers - so it wasn't as scary as say my roommate who was home alone and thought the metal staircase on the back of the house had fallen off.

He said he glanced around my craft rooms upstairs but didn't see anything wrong - i'll have to double check when i get home.

It wasn't to bad at first - because the building was only shaking like a really heavy truck was rolling by (we're all used to that). It was when the entire building decided that it was tired of standing up straight and acted like it wanted to fall down that we all realized something wasn't quite right.

But all seems to be quite now.....

Hopefully the hurricane won't be so bad.

another sleepless night

here we are, another morning finding myself not being able to fall asleep. Do you ever feel like you're out of sync with life? or is it just that i'm out of sync with what the majority believe we should be like - go to bed everynight by 9 or 10p get up by 5a so we can start another work day or a too short weekend?

had a strange but good weekend.

take this evening - was able to spend some time with mommie (Shirley, for those who don't know who mommie is). we went and wandered around a.c.moore (craft store) talked while we shopped - nothing major just got to spend time together.

well, i'm going to lay down and pretend i'm sleepy - and maybe if i'm lucky, i'll actually fall asleep check ya'll later.

Okay - just alittle freaked out

was just checking my yahoo emails and i just found out more people read stuff i send them than i thought.

thank you all for your encouragement and thoughts that you might peek in from time to time.

just when i'm feeling truly insignifigant in the grand scheme of things people like to show you just how much your remembered and thought of.

Its almost midnight - again

and here we are (again) awake, with no hope of sleep in the near or possibly far future. So what shall we do with ourselves - write on our blog, piddle around on the internet....

okay have to share - have found a new (well new to me) art? craft? meditation? thing - its called Zentangle. Let's see Zentangle is the process of creating great works of art thru controlled doodleing.

I combined my new find with an older new find called Artist Trading Cards (atc) tonight. I created the above piece of artwork on an atc chalkboard paper. Yes, you may see what could be viewed as flaws - but that's one of the beauty things about Zentangle - flaws are allowed. There's this whole philosophy behind it. Check out the link and you'll see.
